The thoracic spine is composed of the vertebrae T1-T12. Having a mobile thoracic spine is important for efficient kipping, any overhead movement, and proper stabilization of the hips and shoulders. Lacking range of motion here can create problems at the lower back, hips, neck, and shoulders. Alas, your posture and daily habits may be causing you to be more susceptible to limited thoracic spine mobility. But don't fret, you can improve your mobility with habit change and mobility exercises.

The following exercises can be completed daily or done as a warmup before overhead movements.

Complete between 1-2 minutes each side per movement, 1-3 sets. To minimize rotation or compensation at the hip, a yoga mat or pillow between the legs would suffice.
