WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Our program is designed for all abilities and we love beginners! You do not need to come with any experience in the gym, just be ready to work hard!

Fully commit to the entire length of the program. There will be difficult workouts and challenges. We want participants who will see it through to the end!

Be disciplined enough to apply our nutrition plan. The program does not work without your consistency and efforts. You WILL see results as long as you follow the plan.

Understand that all transformations are welcome. This challenge won't be solely about losing weight, and every may come with a different goal in mind. That's what makes the class unique!

Be willing to take before and after pictures so you're able to track your progress. Results don't only come from a scale, being able to SEE them will help keep you motivated. 

Have respect for your fellow class members, coaches, and the rules of the gym and come to each class with a positive attitude.

Thomas Sampson

 
CrossFit Level 3 trainer, Certified Sports Nutritionist, Olympic weightlifting, Program design
 

Thomas is owner of Machine Shed Sports, and as head coach, develops strength and conditioning programs.Throughout school, Tom participated in competitive sports. Today, he enjoys being active, traveling, working in the garage and spending time with family. He went to college for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling and worked as an AODA counselor. Then discovered his love for fitness, and opened the Machine Shed in January 2016. He has competed in numerous CrossFit competitions, earning himself a win at the Midwest Championships 2014 in the Male RX division. Since then, Tom has found his true passion lies in coaching. He has been coaching CrossFit and weightlifting for 5 years and coached numerous athletes to podium finishes and national meets. Tom is a USAW Advanced Sports Performance Coach, Level 3 CrossFit Coach, Certified Sports Nutritionist, holds an Associate Degree in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling, and a Supervisory Skills Certificate.

WHY DO WE DO THIS?

The Best Self Challenge was created to make Functional Training accessible to a larger population. We have personally experienced the life-changing power of functional fitness and wanted to find a way for others to connect as well. We know it can be scary or intimidating to come into the gym on your own, which is why the group process is so powerful! Everyone will benefit from the workouts if they just commit and engage, and now they can do that in a safe and friendly setting.

What we want is to find individuals who are ready to jump in, work hard, and embrace the program with an open mind and attitude. Functional Training CAN transform your life, and we are looking for individuals who will represent the program by putting their best foot forward.
